UC Davis Campus and Downtown Davis
The University of California, Davis is a public research university and one of the 10 campuses of the University of California system. The 5,300-acre campus is in the city of Davis, a vibrant college town of about 68,000 located in Yolo County.
The UC Davis Arboretum supports the teaching and research at the University of California. The Arboretum occupies 100 acres along the banks of the old north channel of Putah Creek. Its collections include 22,000 trees and plants adapted to a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The plants are arranged in a series of gardens that represent different geographic areas, plant groups, or horticultural themes. The Arboretum gardens are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and there is no charge for admission.
Downtown Davis is a quaint but lively community with a variety of boutiques, outdoor markets, parks and restaurants. Enjoy the day walking through the tree-lined streets and visiting art galleries or stocking up on local produce.
Getting There
Take San Joaquins to the Sacramento, CA Station (SAC) and transfer to Capitol Corridor Train 537 and get off at the Davis, CA Station (DAV) in the heart of Downtown Davis. The University's campus is just a short walk west through Downtown towards A Street along 2nd Street. Travel time from the Sacramento station is about 60 minutes.
