47 hours Daily Departure

The Floridian journeys across Indiana and Ohio, through the Allegheny Mountains into Pittsburgh, past scenic Harper’s Ferry, along the historic B&O line through the Potomac Valley to Washington, and then across the south towards Florida’s beaches, cities, and family attractions. Onboard, you will witness scenery not accessible by other modes of transportation while experiencing the unique comfort and relaxation of rail travel.

New Route, Same Spectacular Views

Amtrak’s East River Tunnel Rehabilitation Project in New York requires closing one tunnel tube at a time to safely and efficiently conduct modernization work, resulting in minor capacity limits on train operations in this area. As a result, Amtrak has temporarily combined the Capitol Limited and Silver Star trains to create the Floridian, which will run between Chicago and Miami via Washington, DC.

A Comfortable Journey

Instead of driving a car, taking a plane or bus, the Floridian is bound to give you a memorable train ride. Spacious accommodations make your trip more enjoyable, with showers and thoughtful amenities, friendly service, and delicious dining. Choose a wide, comfortable Reserved Coach seat, or make reservations for a private room and enjoy watching the spectacular scenery roll past. Traditional dining meal service is offered as a complimentary benefit for First Class customers. Plus, your dedicated First Class attendant is on hand to assist with meals and luggage, provide turndown service, and share great stories of life on the rails.

Trainside Checked Bike Service

Don't let your bike sit at home while you have all the fun — take it with you on your next trip aboard the Floridian and explore your destination car-free. Advance reservations are required. See the full details.
