Delays along the Northeast Corridor
December 22, 2024 7:00 PM
Amtrak crews have partially restored service on the tracks between New York Penn Station (NYP) and Philadelphia 30th St William Gray Station (PHL). Two of the four tracks allow train movement at reduced speeds. One of the four tracks is fully restored, allowing trains to operate at normal speeds. Crews are still working to restore service on the fourth track. We are doing our best to move trains in timetable order to minimize delays. This incident has impacted trains operating from Washington Union Station (WAS) to Boston South Station (BOS). Residual delays may occur due to operational challenges stemming from onboard crew restraints. Customers traveling along the Northeast Corridor should expect delays of at least 30 to 60 minutes. We will update you when our service is fully restored. We understand the impact this may have on your schedules and commitments, and we sincerely appreciate your patience.
Customers with reservations on affected trains will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.
